Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 9 July 2026

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and UAIT LLC (“Ummity”, “we”, “us”), which operates the Ummity web app and mobile apps (together, the “Service”) — a platform that lets local Muslim communities run their events, classes, announcements, group chats, marketplace, local businesses, fundraisers, and prayer information in one place. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Accepting these Terms

You accept these Terms when you tap or click to create an account, sign in with a provider (Google or Apple), or otherwise use the Service. We record the date you accept as part of your account. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization (for example, as a community administrator), you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for it.

2. Eligibility and age

The Service is not intended for children under 14, and you must be at least that age to create an account. Some communities run youth spaces; community administrators are responsible for supervising those spaces and for any consents required for minors who take part. See our Child Safety Standards.

3. Your account

Keep your login credentials secure and don’t share your account. You’re responsible for activity under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date. Tell us promptly at support@ashrafnet.com if you believe your account has been compromised. We may require you to verify your email before you can post or join a community.

4. Communities, membership, and admins

Ummity is organized into communities, each run by its own administrators and moderators. Joining a community may require approval, and admins may set rules, approve or remove members, moderate content, and suspend or ban members within their own community. A suspension or ban applies only to that community and does not affect your other memberships or your Ummity account. Admins act as independent operators of their communities; we are not responsible for their decisions, events, or the accuracy of what they post.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • break the law, or post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, or that incites violence;
  • post sexual content involving minors, or otherwise endanger children (see our Child Safety Standards);
  • impersonate others, misrepresent your affiliation, or infringe anyone’s intellectual-property or privacy rights;
  • post spam, scams, malware, or run unauthorized commercial or political solicitation;
  • harvest or scrape other members’ personal data, or use the Service to build a competing dataset;
  • disrupt, overload, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its security systems;
  • circumvent moderation, rate limits, bans, or access controls.

We may remove content, and suspend or terminate accounts, that we reasonably believe violate these Terms or put members at risk.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you post — events, listings, messages, photos, voice notes, comments, polls, and the like. You grant Ummity a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display that content solely to operate and provide the Service (for example, showing your message to other members of your community, or resizing an image you upload). This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained in backups or where we must keep records for legal or safety reasons.

You’re responsible for the content you post and confirm you have the rights to share it. Content within a community is visible to that community according to each space’s settings, as described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Marketplace, businesses, and events

Members and communities may list items in the marketplace, promote local businesses, and organize events. Ummity is a venue, not a party to these dealings. We don’t vet, endorse, or guarantee any listing, business, review, event, or the people behind them, and we don’t process payments for them. Any transaction, meet-up, or arrangement is strictly between the people involved, at their own risk. Use common sense, especially when meeting someone or paying for something.

8. Fundraisers and donations

Where a community enables fundraising, campaigns and any pledges or donations are organized and controlled by that community, not by Ummity. We don’t hold funds, guarantee that a campaign’s goal or use of funds is accurate, or provide tax or charitable-giving advice. Contribute only to communities and campaigns you trust, and direct questions about a campaign to its organizers.

9. Prayer times and religious information

Prayer times and related information are calculated from the calculation method and location you or your community choose and are provided for convenience only. They may differ from your local authority; verify with your masjid or a scholar where precision matters. We don’t guarantee their accuracy.

10. Our intellectual property

The Service itself — our software, design, logos, and the “Ummity” name — belongs to us and our licensors. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service under these Terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or create derivative works from the Service except as the law allows.

11. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties (for example, hosting, storage, email delivery, prayer-time calculation, and Google/Apple sign-in). Your use of a sign-in provider is also subject to that provider’s terms. We’re not responsible for third-party services or for links to external sites you may reach through the Service.

12. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if we’re required to by law, or to protect the Service and its members. Sections that by their nature should survive — including content license carve-outs, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification — survive termination.

13. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don’t warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any content — including prayer times, listings, or community posts — is accurate or reliable.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ummity and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service, from dealings with other users or communities, or from content on the Service. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us to use the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or [USD 100]. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ummity and its operators from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of anyone’s rights.

16. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the [State of New Jersey, USA], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in [Camden County, New Jersey] will have jurisdiction over disputes, except where mandatory local law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We’ll post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date, and we’ll give additional notice for material changes where required. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
