Claiming your business

Some businesses are listed on Ummity before their owner joins — added by our team or from a local directory. If one of them is yours, you can claim it and take over managing the listing.

Find your business

What we will ask for

Tell us in your own words how you are connected to the business. That is the part a reviewer reads first, and it often matters more than any document.

Then add whatever you have. Useful things include:

You do not need all of these. Send what you can.

Please check your photos are readable

Blurry or half-cropped documents are the most common reason a claim is turned down, and it means going round again. Before you send one, check the text is sharp and the whole page is in frame.

The phone call

A reviewer will ring the phone number on the listing — the one already published, not a number you give us. They will read out a six-digit code, and you enter it in the app while you are signed in. That is what tells us the person claiming the business is the person who answers its phone.

The code only works for the account that made the claim, so please do not pass it to anyone else. After five wrong entries it stops working and a reviewer has to call again.

What happens next

You will see the status of your claim in the app the whole time. If it is approved, the listing becomes yours to manage and you will be told in the app the next time you open it — whether or not you have notifications switched on. If it is not approved, we will tell you why.

What we do with your documents

Only our platform reviewers can see them, every viewing is logged, and we delete them 30 days after a decision is made. We do not use them for anything else.

If someone else already manages the listing

We cannot move a business that already has an owner on Ummity. Get in touch through the support page and we will look at it individually.
